Pekalongan is indeed famous for its batik. But the city also offers many interesting natural attractions
to visit. One of them is Telaga Sigebyar Mangunan. What is the beauty like?
Lake Sigebyar Mangunan itself is a lake located at the foot of the mountain. The water is very clear
and the view is really beautiful!
According to Kaslam, Head of Telogohendro Village, the opening of the lake took three months.
Everything is done in mutual cooperation by local residents, from opening access roads to cleaning
the peat area around the lake.
Before opening for tourist destinations, Lake Sigebyar is a place used by local residents to perform
cultural rituals, namely Nyadran. The ceremony is held once every three years in the form of
slaughtering Caucasians to be dissolved into the lake.
Although classified as a new natural tourist attraction, but this lake has provided facilities for
travelers in the form of wooden boats to just round the lake. Also, for a shrewd traveler,
canoeing is provided complete with buoys.
The place is fun and unique. Very instagramable. Especially if the fog is down, the more beautiful
it is enjoyed.
To go to Lake Sigebyar in Pekalongan, a traveler can travel from the Capital of Pekalongan
Regency namely Kajen, to Petungkriono District. Travel time is about 2 hours.
From Petungkriyono sub-district, then proceed to Dukuh Mangunan, Tlogohendro Village
with a smooth road access because it has been paved.
Now from Hamlet Mangunan, a traveler can leave the vehicle. The journey then continues on foot
to Lake Sigebyar with a distance of about 600 meters from the local hamlet. The road is still in
the form of arranged stones.
Feeling tired during the trip paid off when he arrived at the location of Lake Sigebyar. Very beautiful!
